City of Gold
City of Gold
Chernobyl has been declared as uninhabitable for humans for 20,000 years because of dangerously high radioactive contamination after the 1986 disaster. However, there is enough evidence to prove that the flora and fauna have claimed the city. You can see the dense forests have taken over the man made structures and wildlife has not only returned but is also thriving. As much devastating as we feel for Chernobyl disaster, the truth is that our acts might lead us all the way to the destruction but nature is resilient. Life is relentless. It does find a way even in the harshest of the conditions.
City of Gold is inspired by resilience of the nature that we see in Chernobyl today.
